The Village of Clifton Springs (pop. 2,400) lies just off the New York Thruway (Interstate 90) between Rochester and Syracusea short drive to urban conveniences, yet steeped in its own distinctive rural charm.
While the village grew up around the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, the area has diversified to embrace tourism, education, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Situated at the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, Clifton Springs offers a country club, fine dining, a YMCA, playing fields, and a village park that doubles as a popular venue for outdoor concerts.
Historical locations include the restored train station (now home to the village library), and Foster Cottage Museum. Renowned for its original Tiffany windows and mosaic mural, the Clifton Springs Sanitarium Chapel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Cultural traditions are preserved at the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center, overlooking nearby Canandaigua Lake, which brings professional theater and music performances to the area, including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Finger Lakes Region offers boating, hiking, biking and camping on the five Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario. Wine Country also beckons from the nearby Canandaigua Wine Trail.
Our area is a year-round recreation destination, offering golf, tennis, downhill and cross-country skiing, and other winter sports. The Finger Lakes Race Track, home of thoroughbred racing, lies but a short drive away.
